Full or Half Body Thermography
Thermography Screening
Measures Surface Temperatures
Digital infrared imaging measures surface temperature, displays blood vessel patterns and visual representations of skin temperature. Mapping of skin temperature may display asymmetrical patterns that can correlate to, but not diagnose, disease.
Dr. Natalie Yahle provides Dayton’s
only thermography imaging and interpretation services.
What is Thermography Used For?
Digital infrared imaging measures surface temperature, displays blood vessel patterns and visual representations of skin temperature. Mapping of skin temperature may display asymmetrical patterns that can correlate to, but not diagnose, disease. Evaluating areas of pain, injury, numbness are common reasons to seek thermography. It is also a good tool to be used in conjunction with other screening procedures to monitor pre and post-surgical procedures, and to follow up and evaluate progression, regression, or spread of disease. Note, however, that clinical correlation is necessary to diagnose pathology or disease.

Procedure:
The patient is required to have filled out history forms prior to appointment. The patient is also instructed on procedures to follow before the appointment. Click here for patient intake forms and the list of procedures that must be followed.
Depending on the area being studied, the patient will be asked to disrobe clothing. (For lower body examinations and/or full body examinations, the patient’s underwear can remain on.) The patient acclimates to this room temperature for 10 minutes with the gown on. Then the patient is asked to remove the gown and remain standing for 5 minutes. After the 15 minutes of acclimation is complete, Dr. Natalie Yahle, physician certified interpreter, will take the images to complete the series. The patient will be told to stand in positions so that the region being studied is properly displayed for the image. The entire procedure can take up to 45 minutes.

When will I get my results?
Results are interpreted and provided to the patient within 2 weeks. The patient will receive a report and go over the results with their doctor here at Take2 Healthcare. Any results can be forwarded to the patient’s physician of choice by filling out this release of records form. The images are offered to the patient as well.
The report and laboratory procedures report follow peer reviewed, internationally accepted American Academy of Thermology (AAT) Breast Guidelines. Click here for more information on the AAT.
